Sending Your Precious Items – The (Important) Fine Print
We love creating meaningful keepsakes, and part of that journey means treating your items with the utmost care and respect. But to make sure everything goes as smoothly as resin on a warm day, please follow the instructions below very closely. Think of it as a love letter to logistics — one your memories truly deserve.
Sending Cremated Ashes
First things first: please, never send all of the ashes. We only need a tiny bit, and we absolutely want you to keep the rest safe. Your loved one’s remains are treated with the deepest respect here, and we work with great care to make sure everything is preserved beautifully.
How to send:
Place ashes in a ziplock bag, then place that into another ziplock bag (double trouble = extra safe).
Write your name and order number on the front.
Pop that into a sturdy envelope.
Our trusted partner, The Courier Guy, will collect this and deliver it safely to our studio, either same-day or overnight depending on where you live.
Sending Breast Milk
We’ll need around 50-100ml of your magical milk. Freeze it and seal it in a pouch or suitable container before it begins its travels.
Packing tips:
It must arrive frozen, so wrap it up like a chilly burrito – layers of plastic, extra insulation, ice packs if you can.
Mark your name and order number on the packaging.
Please, if it’s your only stash, don’t send all of it. Let us know and we’ll find the best option together.
Courier collection works the same: plastic sleeve, quick delivery.
Sending Flowers
Fresh is best! Flowers older than 72 hours don’t play nice with resin and may lead to disappointing results.
Here’s what to know:
You’ll get an email before your event with exact instructions.
Situated close to Randburg, Gauteng? You’re welcome to drop off!
Do not place flowers in the fridge or freezer — household appliances are not flower-friendly.
Already froze them? Don’t stress – ask your florist for a mini bouquet redo, and we’ll work with that.
Regional deliveries can delay arrival, so chat to us ahead of time to avoid surprises.
- We do not send back any left over flowers, we preserve the best and only what is needed for your order size. If you are doing a small items please only send some of your flowers and love and enjoy the rest at home
Sending Hair
A sweet bundle of hair goes a long way.
The ideal way:
Tie it neatly with a ribbon or elastic.
Place in a sealed ziplock bag, with your name and order number.
If you only have a small amount or a single lock, don’t send all of it! Contact us first so we can guide you through the safest way.
Sending Material for Stitched Memory Items
To ensure we can create your chosen memory item accurately, please follow the guidelines below regarding the materials you need to send.
What to Send:
Refer to the product-specific guidance to determine the number and type of fabric pieces or items required.
How to Send:
Place all materials (clothing, fabric, etc.) in a sealed plastic bag.
Include your information sheet inside the bag. We cannot be held responsible for missing items if this is not provided.
Clearly label the outside of your package with your full name and order number.
All materials must be washed, clean, and completely dry before sending. We are unable to work with dirty or odorous items.
Important Notes About Weighted Bears:
Weighted bears are decorative keepsakes only and not suitable as toys.
Weighted bears contain special filling materials that can be hazardous if swallowed.
For safety and durability, weighted bears are limited to a maximum of 3.5 kg.
We recommend displaying all bear and pillow products as a keepsake to ensure its longevity

A Few Loving Disclaimers
We work with delicate and unique materials. Every resin piece is one-of-a-kind and the final result can vary depending on the contents:
Breast milk: colour, texture and reaction may differ.
Hair: every strand is unique (and proudly South African!)
Ashes: treated with reverence, but outcomes vary.
Flowers: each bloom dries and cures differently.
Once preserved, flowers may undergo natural transformations:
Deep red blooms may darken
White flowers may yellow slightly
Some tropical florals or greenery may brown
Flowers can shift position slightly in the resin
And yes, bubbles may appear (they’re just little love pockets)
We do not return extra flowers, only leftover ashes, hair or materials that weren’t used.
Preservation Disclaimer: Please note that our pressed frames do not use resin encapsulation. Due to the fact that we work with fresh blooms provided by you or your florist rather than sourcing them ourselves, we cannot guarantee the absence of microscopic organic matter. While rare, we cannot be held responsible for insect larvae or eggs that may be present within the petals at the time of arrival. As these are invisible to the naked eye, we cannot foresee or prevent them from hatching over time within the frame. It is vital your flowers are fresh and well sourced from a reliable source.
Shipping Shenanigans
We use The Courier Guy and follow their terms (they’re quite dashing and dependable). Please give us accurate package dimensions – surprise charges will be added to your bill if needed.
Shipping to us is always an overnight or same day experience. just a heads-up: if you’re in a regional or off-route area, overnight might take a little longer — let’s chat before pickup so expectations stay smooth.
Shipping orders do not come with insurance, as ‘The Courier Guy’ does not cover these types of items. We recognize that these items hold sentimental value, so we take extra care in packaging them with additional love and cushioning. It’s important to keep in mind that, given the circumstances of our country, incidents such as hijacking, car accidents, and breakage can occur, rarely. The responsibility for any risks associated with the courier lies with the client, and Forget Me Not cannot be held liable for any damage or loss.
Refund Policy (Or, “Let’s Chat If Something’s Not Right”)
Resin is a magical (and unpredictable) medium. Because our pieces are custom, sentimental, and one-of-a-kind, we unfortunately do not offer returns or refunds.
If you’re unhappy within 48 hours of receiving your item, reach out. We’ll do everything we can to make things right.
Please note:
Returns for fixes are allowed, but shipping is on you.
We only accept responsibility if your order arrived differently than what you asked for.
If damage happens after it’s left our studio, we’re not liable – but we’ll try help at a reasonable cost.
Inadvertent Oopsies
Sometimes even we slip up. If there’s an obvious error on our website (like price, product details, or images), we reserve the right to correct it. If your order hasn’t gone into production yet, you’ll be offered a full refund or can proceed with the corrected info.
Non-Refundable Deposits
All deposits are non-refundable. However, we’re human – if timelines or emergencies arise, we’ll gladly reschedule where possible.
If you cancel after we’ve already preserved your flowers, there will be a fee to return them as time, labour, and materials have been used.
Timelines
At Forget Me Not, every piece we create is made with care, love, and intention. Each item goes through several detailed stages to ensure your memories are preserved in the most beautiful and lasting way possible. Below you’ll find an overview of our different processes and what to expect in terms of timeframes.
Flower Preservation
16 – 20 weeks
After welcoming my baby girl, our production timelines extended to around 16–20 weeks
We’re working hard to get back to our 12–16 week turnaround, but we’ll never rush your flowers, every piece deserves the time it needs to become something truly special.
The preservation stage is the longest part, but it’s always worth the wait. Your account will be updated as your order progresses, and we’re always just a message or call away if you need an update. 🤍
Although this timeline begins straight away, as soon as your flowers enter preservation, delays on final invoice payment will affect these times.
Jewellery Mementos
8 – 10 weeks
Each jewellery piece is custom made with love and precision. Once your size is confirmed, your design is 3D printed, then cast in sterling silver
An intricate, high-heat process handled with extreme care.
After casting, your piece is cleaned, polished, and set, before your precious memories are preserved inside the piece.
This process typically takes 8–10 weeks, depending on the complexity of your order.
This timeline only begins once the final payment has been cleared in our accounts
Stitched Keepsakes
4 – 6 weeks
Turning your material into the perfect keepsake takes time, love, and a steady hand.
Each stitched piece takes approximately 4–6 weeks to create.
It will be something truly worth showing off and cherishing forever. 🤍
Our seamstress team work carefully and meticulously to provide you with a product you will be proud to show off.
This timeline only begins once the final payment has been cleared in our accounts
ALWAYS LEAD WITH KINDNESS
GENTLE REMINDER
These timelines are guidelines ONLY. Life happens, and as humans, things can shift from order to order depending on communication, complexity, and circumstances.
We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding. Your memories mean the world to us, and every order is handled with care, pride, and respect.
Day or night, we’re always just a call or message away.
Please remember, I am one person managing all phases of this business, from design and production to communication and packaging. I pour my heart into every piece, so I kindly ask for grace and kindness if things ever take a little longer than expected.
Thank you for being part of the Forget Me Not journey.
We aim to meet our timelines but they are guidelines, not guarantees. Many things (like payment delays, back-and-forth on design choices, and the unpredictable nature of nature!) can affect final delivery.
Your online account is where all progress updates live. Please check in there often – it’s our main line of communication.
Just a quick note: any orders not picked up within one month of completion email, will be placed into storage. While we’ll do our best to keep everything safe, Forget Me Not can’t take responsibility for any damage or loss after that time.
Thanks for your understanding
Product Selection
All pieces are hand-crafted and unique to your materials. Sizing may differ, which could affect final costs. We use UV-protective resin, but we recommend not placing your keepsake in direct sunlight.
Once preservation is complete, your flowers are exposed again – so the sooner you select your piece and make payment, the better their condition.
A Final Note From the Studio
We’re a small but mighty business, built on empathy and love. Most of what you see — website, social media, design, emails, crafting, packing, shipping is done by the same person (hi). So if something feels slow or unclear, please reach out with kindness. We promise to always reply honestly, openly, and with care.
By sending and accepting your order, you agree to all the above.
Questions? Hugs? Curious about the process?
